One company – one town
Slovenská Armatúrka Myjava would now celebrate the 80th anniversary of its establishment. With industrial production arriving in Myjava, first as Tauš and later as Slovenská Armatúrka Myjava, a mutually advantageous symbiosis between one town and one factory started to develop. The results of such coexistence are still visible in Myjava in many aspects – in urban construction, the school system, culture, as well as sport.
On Saturday, 27 January 2018, a ceremonious gala was held in the Samko Dudík Culture House to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Slovenská Armatúrka. Many artists performed at the event, including the local assemblies of Kopaničiar, Kopa and Dychová hudba Myjava. From 15 to 31 January, the celebrations were accompanied also by Armatúrka and Myjava exhibition where the visitors could become familiar not only with the history but also with the current production programme of SLOVARM and SLOVPLAST.
As a part of the programme, a book entitled ´Armatúrka and Myjava´ was launched - its launch was celebrated with plum brandy from Myjava and brass chippings by a deputy mayor Ing. Stanislav Tomič and the President of the Board of Directors of Energy Group, Ing. Milan Špak.
The town of Myjava grew hand-in-hand with Armatúrka. The history of both the town and the factory was written by people devoted to the region. Forty of them received a book with a brass plate and a letter of thanks on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Armatúrka during the gala. The awards were given to them by the chief executive officers of Slovarm and Slovplast – Ing. Bohuslav Koči and Ing. Peter Šlahor.
The current and former employees, as well as the town and the region, celebrated the anniversary of Slovenská Armatúrka thanks to financial support from Energy Group, which successfully continues producing fittings in Myjava with SLOVARM and SLOVPLAST. And, importantly, they continue supporting the town´s culture, sport and school system.
